INTRODUCTION
Before the beginning of the semester, the dean meets the faculty of Nursing to discuss the
alignment of the academic loads with the expertise and expertise of each faculty. The faculty negotiates
with their area of duty and the subject they teach. After agreeing about the loading, faculty of the same
level meets and discusses how they will be going with the lecture and RLE for the whole semester
S.1. There is an institutional outcome based standard format in the preparation of the syllabi.
The university is undergoing different accreditations and the format of the syllabi was
standardized to meet the requirement of the accrediting bodies. In order to comply with the outcome
based format of the syllabus, the College of Nursing in ISU Echague, in participation with the Commission
on Higher Education (CHED) R02 conducted a 3 day Seminar-Workshop in Syllabi Making for the OBE
Nursing Curriculum last March 14-16 2018. Included in the contents of the syllabi are the following:
1. Graduate attributes
2. Program Outcomes
3. Intended Learning Outcomes
4. Learning Contents
5. Teaching and Learning Activities
6. Teaching Learning Modality
7. Assessment Task
8. Assessment Tools
9. Number of Hours

S.2. The Syllabus includes a list of suggested readings and references of print and electronic sources
within the last 10 years
The library has an updated collection of references from the last 5 years. The list of suggested
readings are also included in the syllabus. You can see this list towards the end part of the syllabus. If you

S.3. Copies of all course syllabi during the term are available at the dean’s office or any appropriate
repository
S.4. Copies of all course syllabi in previous terms are filed for reference purposes
After the loads are given to the faculty during the sem opening meeting, each team are tasked
to submit 3 copies of their syllabi for review of the Program Chair and for Approval of the dean. Once
approved, one copy will stay at the Dean’s office, one copy goes to the faculty and the last copy goes to
the photocopy center for reproduction then are distributed to the students. The Dean’s copy is compiled
in her shelf.
