PARAMETER D IMPLEMENTATION
I.7. Independent work and performance are encouraged and monitored in the following activities:
I.7.1. projects/reports;
Independent projects are performed to encourage students to develop the capacity to learn
without leaning on others.
I.7.2. case studies;
Case studies gives the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the subject in hand and
reduces the potential for any bias, enhances team-work and cooperation within the group. Please see
the case study in the A3PD archive.
I.7.3. nursing process/nursing care plans;
Nursing care plans play a vital role in the treatment of a patient. They clearly define
guidelines along with the nurse's role in patient care and help them create and achieve a solid plan of
action. This equips nursing students to provide focused care—without overlooking important steps.
I.7.4. drug studies;
Engaging students in drug education activities assists them to make healthy and safe choices,
identifying risky situations, and developing strategies to prepare them for challenging situations at
home or in the hospital settings.
I.7.5. thesis; and
Nursing students need research because it helps them advance research field, stay updated
and offer better patient care. Information literacy skills can help nursing students use information more
effectively to develop their own conclusions. Evidence-based practice is important in the field of
nursing.
I.7.6. others (please specify)
Learning Journal/Learning Feedback Diary helps students to be less restrained when
expressing themselves. It also gives students time to organize their thoughts and prepare responses,
which can give them the extra confidence they need to participate in classroom discussions and
understand students progress.
I.8. In practicum courses, (field study, OJT, practice teaching, etc.) the number of trainees
supervised by each coordinator does not exceed 50.
Students have their related learning experience (on –the-Job training) in different affiliating
hospital, in the community and simulation room in each subjects. The ratio of faculty is to student is
1:10.
