In the garden, a lot of bees (is – are) buzzing
Some (is – are) flying. Tekir is running. Asli (ask – asks) her
grandfather, “Grandpa, What (do – does) honeybees do?
Where (do – does) they live? How can they fly? How (do –
does) they make honey? Can you tell me about them?
The grandfather (say – says), “Certainly, my honey.
Honeybees (is – are) hardworking animals. They (work –
works) very hard. They (has – have) got wings, so they can
fly from one flower to another. Bees can see flowers easily.
Look at a bee, Asli! You can see only two eyes, but a bee
(have – has) got nearly twelve thousands eyes. You can see
them under a microscope. A bee (has – have) got two
stomachs. One is the honey stomach. The other is the real
stomach.”
“Bees sometimes swarm. Queen bees (lay – lays) many,
many eggs. These eggs (hatches – hatch) into worker bees.
Hives (become – becomes) very crowded. Old bees (leave –
leaves) hives. An old queen usually (live – lives) with them.
They (fly – flies) in a swarm to a tree. A beekeeper (watches –
watch) his swarm. He (doesn’t – don’t) want to lose his bees.
He (bring – brings) a new hive. He (shake – shakes) the bees
into a basket and (puts – put) them in the new hive. The bees
(do – does) their jobs. They (live – lives) together in the hive
happily.” Says grandfather.
