as ha tred, an ger and en vy. Knowing that all things are an il lu sion, they will not com pete with il lu so -

ry en ti ties or har bor ha tred and en mi ty as a re sult. In an en vi ron ment in which ev ery one has sub mit -
ted to Allah alone, mod es ty, sub mis sion, af fec tion, love and hon esty will pre vail.
Whether or not some one ac cepts this fact in this world, he will still see mat ters very clear ly when

he dies and is sub se quent ly res ur rect ed in the Hereafter. On that day, “sight is sharp” (Qur’an, 50:22),
as Allah tells us in one verse. People will be come much more aware of all things. If he has spent his
life in this world pur su ing il lu so ry aims, he will wish he nev er lived there.
As re vealed in an oth er verse, peo ple will have great re grets:
[He who is giv en his Book in his left hand will say,] “If on ly death had re al ly been the end! My wealth
has been of no use to me. My pow er has van ished.” (Qur’an, 69:27-29)

Those who re al ize in this world that our Lord is the on ly ab so lute Entity will thus be saved from
ter ri ble re grets in the Hereafter. They will use the term al lot ted to them in earthly life to gain Allah’s

ap prov al and to live in the man ner commanded by our Lord. They will see the mean ing lessness of
as crib ing any im por tance to this world, and that the path to ease, com fort and hap pi ness lies in liv -
ing for Allah, without be com ing caught up by earth ly de sires. This is a great bless ing and eas ing of
their bur den. False de sires that wear peo ple down, false ex pec ta tions and idols adopt ed in the false
be lief that they are di vine (Surely Allah is beyond that) will all dis ap pear en tire ly. People will re al -

ize that it is our Lord, the One and On ly, Who per vades and en folds all things. They will at tain the
great est ease and safe ty by sub mit ting to Him.
We are informed in one verse of the dif fer ence be tween those who adopt the false deities of this

world and those who take Allah as their on ly Deity:
Allah has made a met a phor for them of a man owned by sev er al part ners in dis pute with one an oth er and
an oth er man whol ly owned by a sin gle man. Are they the same? Praise be to Allah! The fact is that most
of them do not know. (Qur’an, 39:29)

It is of the great est im por tance for some one who be lieves in Allah to know the true facts about
mat ter and to re flect on them in depth. Some one who knows that Allah en folds all things and all pla -
ces will be have sin cere ly to wards Him at ev ery mo ment. He will know that he may face death at any
time, that this world will come to an end, and that he will be con front ed by the true life of the Here-

after. Knowing this and be hav ing ac cord ing ly is a great ad van tage that will bring in fi nite beau ty and
bless ings, by the will of Allah.

The Real Nature of Matter and Vanishing Materialism

For a ma te ri al ist, re al iz ing that we can nev er ex pe ri ence the ma te ri al world di rect ly comes as a
ter ri ble dis ap point ment. In a ma te ri al ist’s dis tort ed world view, it is alarm ing and wor ry ing to re al -

ize that we are cre at ed with a soul be stowed on us by Allah and that the ma te ri al world con sists of
im a ges shown to that soul. That is because in the false re li gion of materialism, ma te ri al ists wor ship
mat ter (Surely Allah is beyond that) and be lieve that lack of pur pose, lack of con scious ness, and co -

in ci den ces all man i fest on Earth. To be able to op pose the fact that they were cre at ed, they de ny that
the uni verse has any be gin ning or end. They in ex pli ca bly es pouse the er ror that the uni verse is eter -
nal and time less. They make the de cep tive sug ges tion that un con scious proc ess es ex plain the or i gins
of the behavior of hu man be ings, and birds, and worms, claim ing that all these are the prod uct of a
ma te ri al world. According to this dis tort ed ma te ri al ist per spec tive, in a hu man be ing’s in ter nal

world, there is no en ti ty that per ceives, thinks, and takes de ci sions. Everything is sup pos ed ly the re -
sult of the phys i cal ma te ri als that con sti tute hu man be ings, in oth er words, un con scious cells, or gan -
elles and at oms.

In short, there is no room for any thing im ma te ri al in the false world of ma te ri al ism. The main
rea son for this ma te ri al ist log ic is the at tempt to op pose be lief in Allah and to avoid be liev ing in Him
