That un der stand ing in turn will bring an end to all pas sion ate de vo tion to this world, to any
                       thirst for ma te ri al gain, pride and self-in ter est. He will un der stand that greed, self-ag gran dize ment,

                       and the search for ma te ri al things lose mean ing in a world where ev ery thing is an il lu sion. Anyone
                       will then make at tain ing the ap prov al of Allah and the Paradise, in which he hopes to spend his eter -
                       nal life, as his sole ob jec tives. The sub lime ex is tence of Allah en folds ev ery where and ev ery thing. All

                                                          de tails, great or small, that a per son ex pe ri en ces in the life of this
                                                                 world are proofs of our Lord’s wisdom, might and art ist ry. Ho-
                                                                      wever, peo ple who ma te ri al ist phi los o phy has de ceived in to
                                                                          be liev ing that mat ter is the sole ab so lute en ti ty look for
                                                                            some oth er, equal ly ma te ri al en ti ty to which they can

                                                                              as cribe all this per fec tion.
                                                                                    This aris es from their fail ure to re al ize that they
                                                                                 are liv ing in side an il lu sion.

                                                                                       When mat ter is re vealed as an il lu sion, we see
                                                                                   clear ly the ex is tence of the soul. Allah is the on ly
                                                                                    ab so lute Entity, Who per vades and en folds all
                                                                                    things and is un fet tered by space and time. He
                                                                                   re veals this in an oth er verse:

                                                                                    Eyesight can not per ceive Him, but He per ceives eye -
                                                                                     sight. . . . (Qur’an, 6:103)

                                                                                            Allah per vades our in ter nal and ex ter nal
                                                                                           lives, our sight, our thoughts and all our
                                                                                               be ing. We can do noth ing, not even
                                                                                                     breathe, with out His knowl edge.
