feel ashamed. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him
as a brother. (2 Thessalonians, 3:13-15)
Woe to you... you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—
mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more impor-
tant matters of the law [God's commandments]—justice, mercy
and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without ne-
glecting the former. (Matthew, 23:23)
[Jesus:] "While I was with them, I protected them and kept them
safe..." (John, 17:12)
As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-
possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said,
"Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has
done for you, and how He has had mercy on you." (Mark, 5:18-19)
... But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then
peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good
fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a
harvest of righteousness. (James, 3:17-18)
... But the fruit of God's Spirit [the spirit of faith in God] is love, joy,
peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians, 5:22-
23)
