And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be
kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who op-
pose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will

grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the
truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from
the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
                 (2 Timothy, 2:24-26)

Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual
should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also
may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way
you will fulfill the law of Christ [God's commandments re-
                 vealed to Jesus]. (Galatians, 6:1-2)

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be
obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no
one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humili-
ty toward all men. (Titus, 3:1-2)

[Jesus:] "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn
from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls." (Matthew, 11:28-29)

... But in your hearts... Always be prepared to give an answer
to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that
you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a
clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against
your good behavior in Christ [by following Jesus] may be

ashamed of their slander. (1 Peter, 3:15-16)

But the wisdom that comes from heaven [from God's Presence]
is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive,
