Pleasant Words from the Gospel
full of mercy and good fruit, without partiality, and without
hypocrisy. (James, 3:17)
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander,
along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate
to one another, forgiving each other, just as... God forgave you.
(Ephesians, 4:31-32)
Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard
among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish
you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their
work. Live in peace with each other... brothers, warn those
who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient
with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for
wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to every-
one else. Be joyful always. (1 Thessalonians, 5:12-16)
But the fruit of the Spirit of God is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law. (Galatians, 5:22-23)
... I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling [accord-
ing to the revelation you receive from God] you
have received. Be completely humble and
gentle; be patient, bearing with one
another in love. (Ephesians, 4:1-
2)
