Having Fortitude

For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of un-
just suffering because he is conscious of God... But if you suf-
fer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable be-
fore God. (1 Peter, 2:19-20)

You too, be patient and stand firm... Don't grumble against each
other, brothers... Brothers, as an example of patience in the face
of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the
Lord. As you know, we consider blessed those who have per-
severed. You have heard of Job's perseverance
and have seen what the Lord finally brought
about. The Lord is full of compassion and
mercy. (James, 5:8-11)
