Pleasant Words from the Gospel
Being Trustworthy
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted
with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also
be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in
handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else's
property, who will give you property of your own? (Luke,
16:10-12)
So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ [for God's
approval] and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must
prove faithful. (1 Corinthians, 4:1-2)
... I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as
one who by the Lord's mercy is trustworthy. (1 Corinthians,
7:25)
... He [Jesus] considered me faithful, appointing me to his ser-
vice. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor
and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in igno-
rance and unbelief. (1 Timothy, 1:12-13)
In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of re-
spect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in
everything. (1 Timothy, 3:11)
... And the things you have heard me say in the presence of
many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qual-
ified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good sol-
dier [student, follower] of Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy, 2:1-3)
