Pleasant Words from the Gospel
So watch yourselves. "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if
he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a
day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' for-
give him." (Luke, 17:3-4)
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "... How many times shall
I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven
times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but sev-
enty-seven times. (Matthew, 18:21-22)
He [Jesus:] said to them, "When you pray, say: '[Our Lord]...
Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins
against us. And lead us not into temptation.'" (Luke, 11:2-4)
Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil
one. (Matthew, 6:12-13)
"'You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate
your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for
those who persecute you... He [God] causes His sun to rise on
the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the
unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will
you get?..." (Matthew, 5:43-46)
Being Meek and Gentle
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
(Matthew, 5:5)
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beau-
ty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's
Sight. (1 Peter, 3:4)
