Pleasant Words from the Gospel

                            They are Secretly Irreligious

For certain men whose condemnation was written about long
ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless
men, who change the grace of our God into a license for im-
                   morality... (Jude, 1:4)

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. Peo-
ple will be... lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have noth-
ing to do with them. (2 Timothy, 3:1-5)

                        Although They Possess Knowledge,
                           They Do Not Understand Faith

... People will be... having a form of godliness but denying its
power... They are the kind who worm their way into homes...

who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of

evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge
                   the truth. (2 Timothy, 3:1-7)

... The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure
heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have
wandered away from these and turned to
meaningless talk. They want to be teach-
ers of the law [God's commandments],
but they do not know what they are
talking about or what they so confi-
                                           dently affirm. (1 Timothy, 1:3-7)
