An individual swift is known to have lived for as long as eighteen
                     years. In its lifetime, it must have flown some four million miles. That
                     is the equivalent of flying to the moon and back eight times. (David

                     The albatross (Diomedea exulans), one of the birds with the greatest
                     wing span, makes a round trip of more than 15,000 kilometers (9,300
                     miles) in a single foraging trip while his mate is on incubation duty.
