Have I not com mand ed you? Be strong and cour a geous. Do
not be ter ri fied; do not be dis cour aged, for the Lord your God
will be with you wher ev er you go. (Joshua, 1:9)
... "Surely God is with you, and there is no oth er; there is no
oth er god." (Isaiah, 45:14)
I am still con fi dent of this: I will see the good ness of the Lord
in the land of the liv ing. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take
heart and wait for the Lord. (Psalms, 27:13-14)
I love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my strength, my
for tress and my de liv er er; my God is my strength, in Whom
I take ref uge. He is my shield and the horn of my sal va tion,
my strong hold. I call to the Lord, Who is wor thy of praise,
and I am saved from my en e mies. (Psalms, 18:1-3)
In my dis tress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help...
He... drew me out of deep wa ters. He res cued me from my
pow er ful en e my, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They con front ed me in the day of my dis as ter, but the Lord
was my sup port. He brought me out in to a spa cious place; He
res cued me be cause He de light ed in me. (Psalms, 18:6, 16-19)
You, O Lord, keep my lamp burn ing; my God turns my dark -
ness in to light. (Psalms, 18:28)
... He is a shield for all who take ref uge in Him. For who is God
be sides the Lord? And who is the strength ex cept our God? It
is God Who arms me with strength and makes my way per fect.
You give me Your shield of vic to ry... You broad en the path be -
neath me, so that my an kles do not turn. (Psalms, 18:30-32, 35-36)
