WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH

Be pleased, O Lord, to save me; O Lord, come quick ly to help

me... You are my help and my de liv er er; O my God...
                     (Psalms, 40:13, 17)

... The Lord de liv ers him in times of troub le. The Lord will
pro tect him and pre serve his life... The Lord will sus tain
him on his sick bed and re store him from his bed of ill ness.

                     (Psalms, 41:1-3)

                     I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me vic to ry;
but You give us vic to ry over our en e mies... (Psalms, 44:6-7)

Such is the des ti ny of all who for get God; so per ish es the hope

of the god less. What he trusts in is frag ile; what he re lies on is
a spi der's web. He leans on his web, but it gives way; he clings
to it, but it does not hold. (Job, 8:13-15)

The Lord is a ref uge for the op pressed, a strong hold in times

of troub le. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for
You, Lord, have nev er for sak en those who seek You. (Psalms,
                     9:9-10)

I have set the Lord al ways be fore me. Because He is at my
right hand, I will not be shak en. Therefore my heart is glad

and my tongue re joic es; my body al so will rest se cure... You
have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with
joy in Your pres ence, with eter nal pleas ures at Your right
                     hand. (Psalms, 16:8-11)

Some trust in char i ots and some in hors es, but we trust in the

name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees
and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. (Psalms, 20:7-8)
