WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH
I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my
tongue. (Psalms, 66:17)
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to You—I,
whom You have re deemed. My tongue will tell of Your
right eous acts all day long... (Psalms, 71:23-24)
... May they al ways say, "The Lord be ex alt ed, Who de lights
in the well-be ing of His ser vant." My tongue will speak of
Your right eous ness and of Your prais es all day long.
(Psalms, 35:27-28)
... For it is pleas ing when you keep them [My Words] in your
heart and have all of them ready on your lips. (Proverbs,
22:18)
Because Your love is bet ter than life, my lips will glo ri fy You.
I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift
up my hands... with sing ing lips my mouth will praise You.
(Psalms, 63:3-5)
With my lips I re count all the laws that come from Your
mouth. I re joice in fol low ing Your stat utes as one re joic es in
great rich es... May my lips over flow with praise, for You
teach me Your de crees. May my tongue sing of Your word,
for all Your com mands are right eous. (Psalms, 119:13-14, 171-
172)
... You shall read this law.... Assemble the peo ple—men, wom -
en and chil dren, and the al iens liv ing in your towns—so they
can lis ten and learn to fear the Lord your God and fol low care -
ful ly all the words of this law. Their chil dren, who do not know
this law, must hear it and learn to fear the Lord your God...
