WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH

                                  Murdering Is Prohibited

You shall not mur der. (Exodus, 20:13; Deuteronomy, 5:17)

Have noth ing to do with a false charge and do not put an in -
no cent or hon est per son to death, for I will not ac quit the

                     guilty. (Exodus, 23:7)

Will you steal and mur der, com mit adul tery and per ju ry,
burn in cense to Baal and fol low oth er gods you have not
known, and then come and stand be fore Me in this house,
which bears My Name, and say, "We are safe"—safe to do all

these de test a ble things? (Jeremiah, 7:9-10)

My son, if sin ners en tice you, do not give in to them. If they
say, "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for some one's
blood, let's way lay some harm less soul." (Proverbs, 1:10-11)

                                   Adultery Is Prohibited

You shall not com mit adul tery. (Exodus, 20:14, Deuterono-
                     my, 5:18)

They will not set their thoughts to re turn to their God: for the
spir it of for ni ca tion is in the midst of them, and they have
not known the Lord. (Hosea, 5:4)

For a spir it of har lot ry has led them astray, and they have

played the har lot, de part ing from their God. (Hosea, 4:12)

Do not re joice... Do not be ju bi lant like the oth er na tions. For
you have been un faith ful to your God; you love the wa ges
of a pros ti tute at ev ery thresh ing floor. (Hosea, 9:1)
