         это была главная проблема, почему инициативные работники не желали
         мириться с требованиями своего грубого начальника и перестали (to stop
         – это правильный глагол) быть заинтересованными в своих должностях,
         даже  если  выходное  пособие  и  возможность  успеха  были  на  кону.
         Главным  образом,  много  убедительных  и  настойчивых  работников,
         бывало, следовали примеру Грега, потому что тоже хотели (to want – это
         правильный глагол) быть лучшими работниками для данной должности.
