Firebombing
safety
You should endeavour at all times to remain
clear of firebombing drop zones.
If you are caught in a firebombing drop zone:
• move safely and promptly away from the fireline
• don’t run or panic
• watch out for falling branches and debris – firebombing loads
can hit with high impact
• place hand tools well clear of you
• secure your hard hat or protect your head with your arms
• watch your footing, foams and retardant can make the ground
surface slippery
• if hit with foam or retardant, wash it off promptly with clean water.
Foam solutions can irritate eyes and skin. Wear goggles and suitable
gloves. Wash foam solutions out of eyes promptly and out of clothes
after work.
Retardant solutions can also irritate eyes, stain skin and clothes.
Wash retardant solutions from eyes and body promptly.
Wash clothes after use.
