In a briefing the following points must be covered: 5
Under Civil Aviation Rule
1. Conditions under which smoking is permitted. 91.211
2. Occupancy of seats and fastening of passenger seatbelts
or harnesses.
3. Seat configuration for takeoff and landing.
Ground safety
4. Location and means of opening entry doors and emergency exits.
5. Location of survival and emergency equipment for passenger
use (Fire extinguisher, First Aid Kit, Axe, Emergency Locator
Transmitter, Life jackets if operating over water – with
demonstration (CAA Rule 91.525 & 91.211 (b)(3)).
6. Emergency landing procedures (as well as crash position).
7. Use of portable electronic devices (CAA Rule 91.7). IFR flights only. Fixed wing safety

8. Storage of baggage and cargo in accordance with
CAA Rule 91.213 & 91.215.

Wear personal protective equipment. Know how to shut off fuel and
electric power on the aircraft.
