                                                    Sugar Cookies


                         “This is the best sugar cookie in my humble opinion. It came from a judge’s secretary and she
                         made them for me every year ‐ even after she retired. Finally, she gave me the recipe and I’m
                                   glad because she hasn’t made me any since giving me the recipe!”



                                                     1 cup soft butter


                                                      1‐1/2 cup sugar

                                                           2 eggs

                                                      2‐3/4 cups flour

                                               2 teaspoons cream of tartar

                                                  1 teaspoon baking soda

                                                     1/2 teaspoon salt



                         1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.


                         2. Mix together butter, sugar, and eggs.

                         3. In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients together.

                         4. Combine the butter mixture with the flour mixture and mix well.

                         5. Form balls about the size of walnuts and bake for about 10
                             minutes.

                         6. You can frost with homemade buttercream frosting or use

                             Duncan Hines buttercream frosting.
