Two of the contenders for the league title met each other as Rangers and leaders Glasgow City
battled out a goalless draw in a game of few clear cut chances. It was the second time that the
teams had shared the points this season and both remain unbeaten.
City’s lead has been trimmed to three points by Celtic after they narrowly got the better of
Hearts with a 2-1 victory. Jacynta Galabadaarachichi and Manglu Shen put Celtic two ahead at
the interval, before Hearts hit back in the second half with a goal from Jennifer Smith and they
also had an effort disallowed for offside.
Hibernian got back to winning ways with a 4-0 success away to Partick Thistle. Nor
Mustafa and Katie Lockwood put Hibs two ahead in the opening quarter of the game and they
went on to seal the points in the second half, Eilidh Adams curling home a delightful shot for the
third and Kirsty Morrison rounding off the scoring.
Spartans and Motherwell maintained their hopes of securing a top half place at the split
as they fought out a 0-0 draw in windy conditions at Ainslie Park. The result keeps the two teams
level on points and just below sixth placed Partick.
Aberdeen are out of the bottom two following a hard fought 1-0 win away to Aberdeen.
The only goal of the game came through a deflected shot from Hannah Stewart, early in the
second half, to earn the Dons their fourth win of the season.
Aberdeen therefore moved above Hamilton Academical and Dundee Utd whose
meeting ended in a 2-2 draw. Danni McGinley gave United a first half lead which was cancelled
out by Lauren Evans, before McGinley put her side back in front from the penaly spot. Eilidh
Martin levelled the scores once again with fifteen minutes remaining, to earn the Accies a share
of the spoils.
On Wednesday night, Rangers played their game in hand and closed the gap on the leaders
to four points when they defeated Aberdeen 4-1. Megan Bell gave Rangers a fifteenth minute lead
and Kirsty Howat netted a brace ahead of
half time. Eilidh Shore did become only SWPL 1 P W D L F A Pts GD
