Cliftonville Ladies’ went back level on points with leaders Glentoran but their 3-0
victory away to Lisburn Ladies was not quite enough to return them to the top on goal
difference. For the second match in a row, Caitlin McGuinness scored two early goals to put
the Reds in control of the game and Hannah Doherty rounded off the scoring with the third
goal, two minutes before half time.
Glentoran and Cliftonville therefore continue to lead the way with six wins out of six
each but something will have to give this Friday, when the teams meet for the first time this
season.

on the win with the final goal.
Sion Swifts meanwhile got back to winning ways following two straight defeats with a
3-0 success against Crusaders Strikers, taking them level on points with their opponents.
Teegan Lynch gave Sion the lead with four minutes on the clock and Cora Chambers added
a second midway through the first half. Lauren Haynes then rounded off the scoring for the
Swifts with just over twenty minutes remaining.
On Wednesday night, the two teams still seeking their first points of the season came
face to face with Derry City playing host to Larne Women at the Brandywell Stadium.
Katherine Haveron gave Larne the lead on the half hour but Derry’s response was an instant
one with Ellie Redden equalising moments later. Leah Wilgaus was to restore Larne’s
advantage on the stroke of half time and once again the Candystripes reacted well, Redden
netting her second goal early in the second half. However as the match went into injury time,
Hollie Johnston gave Larne the lead for a third time and this time there was no chance of a
recovery by the home side and Larne took the points with a 3-2 victory.
