Newcastle Town Women have had a strong debut season as a club, making excellent
progress to finish unbeaten in the Staffordshire Girls & Ladies League Premier Division,
winning the title alongside the League Cup with a 4-0 victory in the Final against
       Whitchurch Alport.
The league campaign was a closely run race for the title between Newcastle and Leek
Town Reserves, who only lost two games all season. Key fixtures involved a 4-0 success
away from home at Leek, a 3-2 victory at third placed Cresswell Wanderers and an 8-1 win
at fourth place Staffordshire Victoria before a league securing 1-1 draw against Leek in
their final home game. Newcastle duly finished off with a 3-0 victory against Albrighton
Ladies which means that they ended up top of the table by a margin of four points.
In knockout competition, the club made it to the Third Round Qualifying in the
Vitality Women’s FA Cup, beating Port Vale and Droitwich Spa from the league above
before missing out to National League Stourbridge who are champions of Tier 4 while
also reaching the quarter finals of the Staffordshire FA Ladies Challenge Cup, where they
       went down to Sporting Khalsa.
The club has maintained attendances on average of 100+ supporters at The Red
Industries Stadium this season. During the FA Cup run in 2022-23, it saw home
attendances of 600 in the First Round Qualifying round against Port Vale, a 2-0 win and
over 650 tickets sold with 200 tickets given away in the Third Round Qualifying against
Stourbridge which was a record attendance at the stadium.
Head of Football at the club is Micky Beamon, with Katie Greenwood as captain.
Elissa Dockerty finished as the team’s leading scorer with a tally of 15. Katie Ball got into
double figures for the season whilst Tegan Ansell and Katie Greenwood were also regulars
       on the scoresheet,
However it was at the other end where Newcastle impressed as they only conceded
seven times all season, with Cresswell Wanderers being the only team to score more than
one against them in a game, the aforementioned 3-2 victory. In all the team kept ten clean
sheets in the league matches which they played.
