FA Women’s National League

       Northern Premier Division
Sheffield FC may well have caught the backlash from
Derby County's shock defeat in the Vitality Women's
FA Cup when the teams met in the league on Wednesday
night, the Ewe Rams running out 4-0 winners. Jade Formaston, Emily Joyce, Ellie Gilliatt and
Precious Hamilton scored the goals for Derby who, as a result, have gone top of the table for the
       first time this season.
A win would have taken Fylde Women back to the top of the table but they went down to
a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town, who got their own challenge back on course
under returning manager Glen Preston. Ria Montgomery, Kate Mallin and Laura Elford all scored
       for Town.
       Southern Premier Division
Three second half goals gave Southampton FC Women a 3-0 victory over Crawley Wasps
and narrowed the gap on leaders Ipswich Town to six points. The first half was goalless but two
minutes after the restart, the Saints were in front thanks to Lucia Kendall and Ella Pusey went on
to seal the win with two further goals.
       Division One North
Newcastle Utd are back up into second place following their 4-1 win away to Chester-le-Street
Town on Wednesday night. Georgia Gibson hit a hat-trick inside the opening 21 minutes and after
Emily Tait pulled one back for the Cestrians via a second half penalty, Becky Ferguson crowned the
win for Newcastle with a fourth in injury time.
       Division One Midlands
Wem Town picked up an important point when sharing a 1-1 draw against Leek Town. Cassie
Hyde was on target for Leek as they drew for the first time this season, whilst Wem scored through
       Taylor Reynolds.
On Tuesday night, Boldmere St Michaels were dealt a blow in their attempts to narrow
the gap on leaders Lincoln City when they were beaten 3-1 by Sporting Khalsa. Chloe Handy,
Rebecca Gill-Parsons and Louisa Anderson scored the goals for Khalsa, who move up to fifth place,
whilst the Mikes remain five points off the pace.
Substitute Emmalee Hornsby was the heroine for Burton Albion as they won 2-1 away to
Holwell Sports, a result which takes them out of the bottom two. Amber-Leigh Denny had given
Burton the lead on the half hour via a penalty, with Courteney Cropper equalising for Holwell just
before half time, before Hornsby's late heroics gave Burton a crucial victory.
       Division One South East
Kate Bradley and Hayley Barton were on target for sixth placed London Seaward as they battled
out a 2-2 draw against Kent Football Utd, for whom Priscilla Martins netted both goals, on
       Tuesday night.
Actonians Ladies and AFC Wimbledon meanwhile battled out a goalless draw the
following night, a result which means that the two sides stay in third and fifth place respectively.
Queen's Park Rangers leapfrogged Enfield Town in the table after winning their
meeting 2-1. An own goal gave Rangers an early lead and Melanie Hall netted a second in the tenth
minute and although Katie O'Leary pulled a goal back on the hour, Rangers held on for their third
