Adele Hooper led the scoring with a five-goal haul along with Jess Frazer and an own goal. AEK
Boco did their chances for the runners-up spot no harm but also scoring seven times at
Middlezoy Rovers, Ilarna Nche netting four times with Lucy Atkinson (2) and Jessica
Titcomb adding the others. Alex Gwyther (2) and Yazmin Laver accounted for the goals as
Paulton Rovers kept up their improving form by beating Weymouth 3-1.
Marine Academy Plymouth have taken a firm grip on the title race in the Western
Division after they defeated second placed Saltash Utd 6-1. Sam Drewery netted a hat-trick
along with Elizabeth Overton, Rebekah Rose and Devon Simmonds, Yasmin Franklin with the
Ashes' consolation. Eden May and Megan Williams were on target for Feniton as they won 2-1
against Budleigh Salterton, who replied through Maisie Smith, meanwhile Bideford and
Sticker Women finished level at 1-1, goals coming from Ruby Clark and Annie Richards
respectively.
Southern Region League
Bournemouth Sports remain in the running for a second place finish in the Premier
Division, narrowing the gap as Lauren Brewer and Hollie Shaw gave them a 2-1 win away to
Abingdon Town. Wycombe Wanderers meanwhile defeated Winchester City Flyers
3-0 thanks to Sophie Attfield, Freya Harris and Esmee Sword.
Long Crendon remain in the running for a top three finish in Division One North and they
did their cause no harm by beating Carterton 4-1, Eleanor Lovelock hitting a hat-trick and
Michelle Bailey adding the other. Eversley & California meanwhile won 3-1 against
Kidlington thanks to Francesca Boekbinder, Mia Caulcrick and Joanne Harfield.
One match was played in Division One, Abbey Rangers continuing their climb up the
table and they are into third after beating title challengers AFC Stoneham 1-0, Isobel
Saunders scoring the only goal of the game (see match report).
Newly crowned league Champions Abingdon Utd are still in the running for a second
trophy, but only just, reaching the last eight of the Chairman's Cup by beating Oxford City on
penalties after the teams had fought out a 1-1 draw, Beth Hawtin scoring for Abingdon.
West Midlands League
Sutton Coldfield Town have pulled three points clear at the top of the Premier Division; they
won 3-1 at Solihull Sporting thanks to Ruth Graham, Brittany Civil and Chloe Finn whilst
second placed Kidderminster Harriers shared a goalless draw with Burton Albion.
Shrewsbury Town kept their interest in the title race with a 3-0 victory at Redditch Utd in
which Madison Jones, Vikki Owen and Paris Schofield all scored. Rachael Dyson grabbed the
only goal to give Crusaders a fine victory at Worcester City whilst Lye Town won 2-1 away
to Coundon Court with goals from Joella Bate and Sunya Salim.
Division One North leaders Shifnal Town were beaten 2-0 by second placed Walsall
Wood who have narrowed the gap on them to four points, Tayler Davies and Rosie Hargreaves
scoring their goals. Karen Clough (2), Kyrie Ball (2), Nicole Bayliss and an own goal gave
Lichfield City Res a 6-3 win against third placed Tamworth whilst AFC Telford Utd
defeated City of Stoke 5-2 thanks to Abi Beady, Jaime Duggan, Kaitlyn Richards, Felicity
Winters and an own goal. Port Vale ran out 6-0 winners over Wyrley Ladies, Macy
Isherwood and Chloe Smith each scoring twice along with Tara Harrison and Taylor Oakley,
whilst Bonnie Moore, Naffie Sillah and an own goal gave Coventry City a 3-1 success away to
Walsall Ladies.
Coventry Sphinx completed a quickfire double over title rivals Knowle and their 5-2
victory has seen them go twelve points clear. Lottie Rosevear hit a hat-trick for Sphinx along
with Natalie Chadney and Sophie Miller, while Natalie Gibson and Demi-Lee Rolph replied for
the home side. Amy Botfish, Beth Male, Abi Young and Ashlea Follows all scored for Sedgley
& Gornal Utd as they beat Leamington Lions 4-0 to go third, just ahead of Bewdley Town
who won 5-1 against Rugby Borough with goals from Sarah Lojko (2), Chelsea Mudge (2) and
Lauren Thompson. Long Itchington leapfrogged Worcester City Development in the
table after beating them 3-1 with goals from Humera Ashfaq, Sophie Bourton and Lara Finn,
and goals from Kelly Worthington (2) and Grace Keenan earned Rugby Town a 3-0 victory
over Droitwich Spa.
