It has been a busy week in the SWPL with two rounds of fixtures but
business as usual for the title challengers as they keep on winning.
Glasgow City hold on to their lead after a 3-0 victory away to
fourth placed Hearts. Emily Whelan put them in front on the quarter
hour and they sealed the win after the break with further goals from
       Jenna Clark and Lauren Davidson.
Celtic also faced an awkward away trip to Spartans but
similarly came through with a 3-0 win. The game was goalless at half
time but minutes after the restart, Jacynta Galabadaarachchi broke
the deadlock shortly after coming on as a substitute. Olivia Fergusson
made it two and an own goal completed another victory for the
       Hoops. Aberdeen’s Nadine Hansson shields

side 4-0. Hannah Davison headed them in front and after the break,
Kirsty Howat netted twice before Davison scored her second.
Partick Thistle moved themselves back into the top six, thanks to a 1-0 win against Hamilton
Academical. After a tricky run against the top three teams, Cara Henderson scored the only goal of
the game to get Thistle’s season back on track.
Motherwell also stepped up their challenge for a top half place, thanks to a 2-0 success away
to Glasgow Women on Tuesday night. Carla Boyce netted a goal in each half to leave her side one
point behind Partick and Spartans a further point adrift, with the cut off point approaching.
Dundee Utd have moved away from the bottom two places after emerging as 2-1 winners from
a vital clash away to Aberdeen. Tammy Harkin and Danni McGinley scored the goals to give United
three valuable points, despite Hannah Stewart pulling one back for the Dons via a late penalty.
