Brentford taking over at the top of Division One North after beating Watford
Development 4-2. Chloe Logie, Kirsty Matthews and Eleonora Cottrell all scored for
Brentford along with an own goal, with Lily Hall and Safiya Taslim-Dean responding.
Dorking Wanderers kept themselves firmly in contention by defeating Sport London e
Benfica 6-2 courtesy of hat-tricks from Cherelle Khassal and Gemma Shepherd. At the
other end of the table, Whyteleafe maintained their improving form and are off the bottom
after Kamsi Nwosu-Damian and Kaitlyn Lewis gave them a 2-1 victory over Leatherhead.
Three teams now jointly lead Division One South, Ashford Utd hold on to top spot
on goal difference despite being on FA Cup duty whilst Hastings Utd won 5-0 at Bexhill
Utd with goals from Charlotte Gurr (2), Beth Creese, Sian Heather and Brooke Nicholson-
Rogan. Eastbourne Utd complete the trio following their narrow 2-1 victory at Herne
Bay, Grace Hill and Rebecca Relf scoring their goals and Erin MacLennan replying.
Bromley FC Women scored six without reply past Montpelier Villa and are just two
points off the pace, Charlotte Lee bagging a brace along with Charlotte Bennett, Jade
Davenport, Allana Francis-Ashmeil and Olivia Woolacott. Lucy Collinson, Chloe Evans and
Lauren Smith accounted for the goals as Newhaven edged out Steyning Town
Community 3-2 whilst Annemarie Blanche, Okasia Brown and Eve Sales netted for Cray
Valley (PM) in their 3-3 draw with Maidstone Utd, for whom Grace Mayhead scored a
hat-trick.
Saltdean Utd have gone through in the League Cup but only after being taken all the
way to penalties by Denham Utd, the match ending in a 2-2 draw. Molly Hill and Mia
Hyland were the markswomen for Saltdean, with Denham replying through Annie Hewitt
and Daisy Baranowski before Saltdean triumphed 7-6 from the spot. Welling Utd
meanwhile were 2-1 winners away to Dulwich Hamlet Res thanks to Olivia McGregor and
Lilli Maple.
North East League
Chester-le-Street Town are the new leaders of the Premier Division following their 5-0
victory away to previously unbeaten South Shields. The home team would have gone top
of the table with a win but a Rachel Mellor double, plus Elizabeth Clarke, Katie Ellison and
Nichole Havery gave the Cestrians the points. Wakefield kept themselves in the hunt by
winning 2-0 at Hull Utd, courtesy of a double from Neve Renwick. Blyth Town meanwhile
registered their second victory of the season, 2-1 against Sunderland West End.
Norton & Stockton Ancients Res continue to stretch the pace in the Northern
Division, winning 5-3 away to Hartlepool Pools Youth. Maddie Myers hit a hat-trick for
Norton along with Kate McSorley and Lucy Staines, to keep their side one point ahead of
Hartlepool Utd who scored nine times without reply past West Allotment Celtic. Robyn
Foster led the scoring with a four-goal haul, Atalia Robinson weighed in with a brace and
there was one apiece from Anna Charlton, Jade Pye and Olivia Bell. Third placed Wallsend
BC Res defeated Chester-le-Street Utd 4-0 with goals from Hannah Gosnold, Sam
Deverdics, Alex Bailey and Abbie Bolam, whilst Spennymoor Town moved up to fourth
after beating Guisborough Town 4-1, their markswomen were Lily-Mae Jackson, Coral
Colledge, Kira Whittle and Katy Hemmingway. Washington Women are in the top half of
the table after their 2-1 victory away to Bishop Auckland, Jessica Cook scoring both goals.
Holly Mappin netted the only goal of the game as Southern Division leaders
Handsworth won 1-0 at Sheffield Utd Community to preserve their lead of three points
from Barnsley FC Ladies, who edged out Bradford Park Avenue 3-2 thanks to Jodie
Gregory, Sadie Hooper and an own goal. Altofts Ladies are in third after beating Sheffield
Wednesday 9-2, Cara Mahoney hitting a hat-trick along with Nicola Smith (2), Grace
Wilkinson, Naomi Malcolm, Emily Sharp and Emam Dobson. Danielle Thompson, Grace
Sanderson and Katherine Cunliffe all scored for Harworth Colliery as they shared a 3-3
draw with York RI, who netted through Jodie Langstaff (2) and Tamryn Dunlop. Crystal
