Glasgow City wasted little time as they continue to set the pace, powering to a 6-0 victory over
Hamilton Academical. Priscilla Chinchilla netted twice in the opening six minutes and Jenna
Clark added a further brace ahead of the half hour. Emily Whelan added a fifth early in the second
half and Kinga Kozak rounded off the scoring late on.
Celtic put their midweek draw behind them and it was Partick Thistle who caught the
backlash, conceding eight times. Natalie Ross opened the scoring on the half hour and Amy
Gallacher bagged a double before the break, and Mengyu Shen made it four after the retsart. Celtic
did not let up from there with Chloe Craig netting twice, including one from the penalty spot, whilst
Jacynta Galabadaarachichi and Kelly Clark also got on the scoresheet.
Rangers also stay well in touch, running out 7-0 winners over Motherwell. Tessel Middag
and Kayla McCoy put them two up during the first half and Motherwell’s exertions in playing Celtic
and Rangers within a few days may have taken its toll from then. Brogan Hay extended their lead
and Middag netted her second, before Jenny Danielsson, Kirsty Howat and Megan Bell rounded off
the scoring.
Hearts continued their great run of form and cemented themselves in fourth with a 1-0
success away to Aberdeen. The only goal of the game came via a sweetly struck free kick by Emma
Brownlie.
That result extends Hearts’ lead over Hibernian to eight points after they were beaten 2-1 by
Spartans in their local derby. Alana Marshall and Hannah Jordan scored a goal in each half for
Spartans, before Nor Mustafa pulled one back for Hibs late on.
Partick Thistle continue to have a good season and they boosted their chances of a top half
place by beating Spartans 3-0. The three goals came in the final fifteen minutes, Cara Henderson
giving Thistle the lead before they went on to add further goals through Rachel Donaldson and Abbie
Ferguson.
