North West League
FC United of Manchester narrowed the gap on leaders Curzon Ashton to two points with a 7-3
victory over Mossley Hill. Olivia Dixon hit a hat-trick and there was one apiece from Chelsea
Patient, Kirsty Chambers, Chaneece Reeves and Ellie Rigby whilst Covadonga Menendez, Olivia
Ellinson and Ava Saidie all replied for Mossley. They move above Salford City Lionesses who
received a setback as they were beaten for only the second time, 2-1 by Crewe Alexandra. Jessica
Coulman netted the only goal of the game for Cheadle Town Stingers in their 1-0 success away
to Darwen FC Women.
Division One North leaders Haslingden returned to form with a 4-0 victory over
Morecambe and they were further boosted by the news that Penrith AFC and Blackpool, their
two nearest rivals, battled out a 3-3 draw. Beth Cater, Chloe Grisedale and Darcie Dixon all netted
for Penrith, whilst second placed Blackpool scored through Lily Hambly (2) and April Oldfield.
Shannon Gill scored twice along with Ellie Southworth and Regan Lord as Bolton Wanderers ran
out 4-1 winners away to Sir Tom Finney and this takes them into the top half, just ahead of
Carlisle Utd who edged out Chorley Women Development by the odd goal in seven thanks to
Kerri Mallinson (2), Melissa Mallin and Sammi Jo Norman.
Runcorn Linnets are keeping up the pace in Division One South and their eight-goal blast
against Northwich Vixens keeps them three points ahead of Bury AFC Women who defeated
Altrincham 4-1 with doubles from Sophie Charlton and Chloe Greenall. Third placed Poulton
Vics meanwhile kept in touch with the top two by beating Wythenshawe Amateurs 3-0.
Fleetwood Town Wrens are through to the semi finals of the Argyle Sports Kit Cup after
a 2-1 extra time victory away to Accrington Stanley. Curzon Ashton and Warrington
Wolves Foundation meanwhile booked their places in the last eight after recording victories over
Hindley Juniors Women (4-1) and West Didsbury & Chorlton (3-2) respectively.
In the Argyle Sports Kit Plate, Tranmere Rovers got the better of Chester FC Women on
a penalty shootout after the teams had battled out a 3-3 draw. Preston North End claimed a
Premier Division scalp when defeating Blackburn Community SC 4-2 and Penwortham
Town also progressed with a 1-0 victory over BRNESC Ladies.
South West League
The Premier Division title race continues to hot up as Forest Green Rovers defeated Bishop's
Lydeard 4-2 to stay three points clear. Katie Jones netted twice along with Zoe Boyd and Rhian
Robbins, with Caitlin Berry and Imogen Miller replying. Laura Curnock and Georgia Vandries
netted for second placed Bristol Rovers as they won 2-1 at Wootton Bassett Town, whose reply
came from Amber Egerton, and despite goals from Anthea Kaptein and Connie Pengelly, Torquay
Utd were held to a 2-2 draw by Liskeard Athletic who netted through Charlotte Pettinger and
Emily Sweet. Sherborne Town received another blow to their challenge as they were beaten 2-1
by Ilminster Town, whose scorers were Amy Salter and Abi Carslake, whilst Madison Kemp and
Amy Maidment netted the goals for Poole Town in their 2-2 draw with Warminster Town, who
scored through Mia Blazey and Maddie Brown.
The Northern Division is now even more congested than before, with the leadership seeming
to be something of a poisoned chalice. This time it was Frampton Rangers who were beaten, but
they remain top despite going down 2-1 to St Vallier who are two points off the pace but have two
games in hand. Tianna Bishop and Emma Summerill scored the goals for St Vallier, with Lucie
Hulin replying. Second placed Oldland Abbotonians also lost, 3-2 to SGS Olveston Utd who
are coming back to form. Nicola Coles and Morgan Wollen, along with an own goal, gave Olveston
a second straight win whilst Tammi Haynes and Mollie Robbins netted for Oldland.
In contrast in the Eastern Division, Pucklechurch Sports are pulling away at the top and
lead by five points after winning 4-0 in their local derby at AEK Boco. Adele Hooper was on target
twice along with Jess Frazer and Sophie Sweet as the Puckles recorded a ninth straight win. Frome
Town continue to lead the chasing teams, they won 2-0 at Middlezoy Rovers thanks to Koren
Thorner-Atkinson and Martha Peet. Yazmin Laver and Imogen Stocker accounted for the goals as
Paulton Rovers won 2-0 against Weston-super-Mare whilst Weymouth stormed to a 6-1
success at Stockwood Wanderers, Charlotte Wilson and Zara Hunt each netting twice along
with Annie Redding and Ruby Clark, Ruby Brumpton netting a consolation for the home side.
Honours were even at Saltash Utd where the home side moved up into second following
their 1-1 draw with Western Division leaders Marine Academy Plymouth. Hayley Ranachan was
