their 8-0 win over Weston-super-Mare and, if results go their way, they can be crowned
Champions this Sunday. Laura Curnock and Zoe Fielden-Stewart spearheaded the win for
Rovers with four goals each. Bristol Ladies Union are one of the teams which still have a
mathematical chance of catching Rovers, hopes they kept alive as Hannah Price and Beth Poore
gave them a 2-0 victory against Oldland Abbotonians. Downend Flyers meanwhile drew
for the fourth time in nine matches when their meeting with Cheltenham Town
Development finished goalless.
In the Eastern Division, Keynsham Town Res took advantage of their rivals' inactivity
to stretch their lead at the top to nine points with a 4-0 victory against Frome Town. Fleur
Jenkins was on target twice for Keynsham along with Lorna Coates and Vicky Vipond.
The only match to be played in the Western Division saw top take on bottom but such is
the tightness of the division, it resulted in the points being shared as Plymouth Argyle U23
fought out a goalless draw with Saltash Utd.
Southern Region League
Leaders Moneyfields returned to action with a 5-0 victory over Eastleigh and this keeps them
two points clear at the top of the Premier Division. Kim Whitcombe was on target four times for
the Moneys, whose other goal came from Katie Shorter. Abingdon Utd remain hard on their
heels after winning 3-2 away to Ascot Utd. Lauren May (2) and Molly Lygo-Jackson scored the
goals for United, with Tia Johnson and Alix Todd replying. Chloe Ball netted twice along with
Elisha Cox, Cara Kerby and Tori St Clair as third placed Abingdon Town also won, 5-2 at
Wycombe Wanderers.
Division One leaders AFC Bournemouth Development now have an eight point
advantage after their 5-3 win away to Abbey Rangers, Hannah Francis hitting a hat-trick along
with Helen Corbin and Grace Morgan. Bournemouth Sports did keep themselves in touch by
beating Southampton Women Res 3-1 thanks to Rosie Eden (2) and Justine Mosley. Pearl
Mortimer netted twice and Dominique Carrington the other as New Milton Town won 3-2 at
Milton Utd and Eversley & California recorded their first league victory, 5-3 against
Woking Ladies with Rebecca Niblett bagging a hat-trick, Joanne Hartfield and Rebekah
Pantony adding the others.
West Midlands League
The top two did not play on Sunday and this allowed Stourbridge to catch up ground by scoring
seven times without reply against Redditch Utd. Alex Nicklin scored a hat-trick, with the others
coming from Hannah Fishwick, Millie Rogers, Jessica Bate and Chelsea Hassell. Crusaders
meanwhile kept themselves in touch with a 2-1 success away to Worcester City in which Paige
Leonard and Alice Lilley scored. Lucy Dovey, Dani Selmes and an own goal earned
Kidderminster Harriers a 3-2 win at Coventry Sphinx and this keeps them just ahead of
Lye Town who beat City of Stoke 3-0 thanks to Rhiannon Bate, Sian Johnson and Caitlyn
Walton.
In Division One North, a 3-0 victory away to Wyrley Ladies has taken AFC Telford
Utd level on points with leaders Shifnal Town. Tania Prior, Abbie Baldwin and Jaime Duggan
all scored a goal apiece for Telford. Walsall Ladies move up to fourth after a Jessica Bate
double and Aaliyah Shearer gave them a 3-2 win over Port Vale, whilst a Lauri Alexander brace
earned Darlaston Town a 2-2 draw against Sandwell Ladies, whose replies came from
Phoebe Hopwood and Claire Humphries.
Division One South is getting closer and tighter by the week and now just a single point
covers the top four teams in the table. The top three are all level on points, having been joined
this week by Knowle after they ran out 7-0 winners over Westfields Women. Demi-Lee
Rolph scored a hat-trick, Alice Belcher added two and the others came from Jessica Barlow and
Lucy Horsburgh. A win would have taken Kingfisher top but they are fourth after going down
2-0 to Cookley Sports, whose scorers were Lauren Thompson and Elland Draper. Sedgeley
& Gornal Utd also remain close at hand and would have joined the top three on 22 points had
they won at Rugby Town, but instead it was the home team who triumphed 2-1 with Chloe
Debaes scoring both goals.
