WSS: Despite this lack of league games, you are still in fourth place in the
table. How pleased have you been with the way the team has been playing this
season?
ZC: I am so pleased, to see the attitude and ability of this group is a step up from previous
seasons. The atmosphere is positive and there’s a good vibe on the pitch. To see us still
fourth having a few games in hand will only push us on to continue the good form we have
had. It’s an exciting time to be part of Solihull Moors Women, I can’t wait for the rest of the
season.
WSS: You are a team which has been improving steadily over the last few
seasons, were there many changes to the squad during the summer and do you
feel you are stronger now?
ZC: There has been huge growth for us on and off the pitch over the last twelve months. Last
season was focused on staying up, we had a strong second half of the season and now the
transition period is over the management are able to fully implement their philosophy
which has gave us stability and set a new standard. There were a lot of changes this time
last year which is where the squad changed the most. We have made a couple of additions
over the summer and we are very happy with the squad we now have. We are significantly
stronger which shows week in week out, everyone within the club is very proud of where
we are now.
WSS: Stourbridge have opened up a big lead at the top after their win on
Sunday, do you think that they can be caught at this stage?
ZC: Stourbridge are a strong side, with a talented squad. There is no team that’s unbeatable
in this league and with so many games left to play who knows what will happen. Of course
we look at the other teams each week but we can not get distracted or pay too much
attention to things out of our control, we have to focus on ourselves each week to achieve as
much as we can and look to progress as much as possible. We will keep working hard every
week and keep improving to put ourselves in the best position possible for the title race.
