and slacks with tweed jacket and gold jewelry. We go down the
street to Nancy’s and go in (after some difficulty figuring out
which of the many doors is the entrance). It is a tiny warm
place packed with people. It really feels strange there and no
empty chairs so we squeeze over to the bar. The barman tells
us they will have music Saturday night. The whole ceiling of
the area behind the bar is solid ceramic beer mugs hanging
over the barman’s head. We leave shaking our heads and
decide to give up and go to our B & B. (£12.56). I called Mom
and Dad. Dad got his Father’s Day package and sounds like an
Irishman when mom calls him to the phone. I wish him an
early Happy Dad’s Day. Mom has lots of questions. We go
back to our room and I wash my hair and finish up postcards
and go to sleep about 1 a.m.
