We go in and find seats against the wall in the room where the

barmaid says the musicians play. It is only about 8:45 p.m. so

we have quite a wait. One young man was in the room before

us with ear phones on his head. He is reading a book and looks

annoyed when we sat down. M gets us half pints of Carlsbad

beer and we sip away.

A woman comes in with her son who looks to be high school

age. He gets drinks (her drink looks like O.J. and his Coke).

We chat with them and they are in town seeing a healer who

creates fields of energy. He made both of them walk backward

by standing 20 feet behind them and pulling them with this

energy. M says I should go and get my back healed. She’s only

seen me when I’m doing good so wonder what she would think
if she saw me when I can’t even get up because of the back

problems.

A couple from
England comes in

and there was much
discussion of driving

on the left side of the

road. At 9:45 p.m. it

is really filling up.

The musicians arrive

and start to play

sitting in the corner

of the room in the

places that had been reserved for them.

They have an accordion, a mandolin like instrument and a

drum. The songs were very lively and fun. Later, several
