We stop in hopes of tea and scones and found a little restaurant
that has a very limited lunch menu. Beef burger or beef burger
or beef burger so we get a beef burger with beans and chips
which were French fries…sort of. Even the onion gravy can’t
help the poor little soybean tasting patties and the beans are in
ketchup and the French fries are tired and limp.
…That rock where breakers
shredded into rags,
The leggy birds
stilted on their own legs,
Islands riding themselves
out into the fog…
Water and ground
in their extremity.
