M has muscles (a whole pile on a plate with their little black

shells popped open). She has fillet of beef too (3 big pieces of

meat) and fruit. We drive on to Lecanvey and the Corral Reef B

& B. The Woman who runs it, Ann, is very nice. She says she

lived in Chicago for a while and married an American and then

they moved back to Ireland in ’74. All her kids are American

Citizens. She had told us she had twin beds but was confused

so gave us 2 separate rooms (one up a circular stair case with a

view of the bay and one at the back with a view of an oil tank

and the Mountain (Crough Patrick) but with a private bath and

shower. I opt for the downstairs one rather than haul bags up

and M wants the view. Turns out Ann’s son hauled the bags

but I am still happy with the private bath.

We met in the lounge and turn chairs to fit in the bay window

and sit for over an hour catching up on our notes and being

amazed at the sunset over Clew Bay. It goes on and on and at

9:50 M gives up and goes to bed. Two other residents (both
