and, often, just did not understand Jesus but he persisted and
they moved forwards. Each of the three churches in this pastorate

has a particular mission to its community, a distinctive history and
tremendous opportunities. As United Reformed Churches you
are examples of what can be achieved when denominations unite
rather than split and we have a reputation for good practice and
being a safe place in the community. In Acts chapter 2 we can
       read:

44 “All who believed were together and had all things in
                  45
common; they would sell their possessions and goods and
                                                           46
distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as
they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at
                                                                   47
home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising
God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the
Lord added to their number those who were being saved.” [NRSVA]

I know that worship and fellowship are central to the lives of all
three churches. I also know that you are actively engaged in
meeting need. Be encouraged that you are a worshiping presence
in your communities, places of enrichment and care through
       service.

May God bless this time and enrich your fellowships as you look to
       the future.
