“Honky Tonk”, piano delightfully undertones the fear of.... ‘The Record
People’.
Swaying brushwork, lively rolling piano and a joyful harmonica inhabits
‘Sometimes’. ‘Screwed’, is a fine, strutting groover, featuring an atmospheric
fuzz guitar/organ and backing vocals.
‘H-O-P-E-L-E-S-S’, is a splendid walking blues with harmonica, piano and
organ. ‘Great Notch’, is a harmonica/piano rolling, shuffling rumba.
‘Fruitcake’, is a splendid organ and horns led, New Orleans stroller. ‘Yours
Is A Place’, is a quirky, piano ballad, while ‘Success (Was Not To Be Had)’ is
a piano led, caustic view of failure. The acoustic guitar on ‘Crossfire Of Love’,
infuses an air of loss and desperation.
The jolly rolling keyboards on ‘I Drunk, You Drive’ belies its selfishness.
‘Don’t Cry At My Funeral’, is another swinging acoustic tale of selfishness.
Highly Recommended!

Heavydrunk and Watermelon Slim
—Bluesland Theme Park —Heavy-

An ex-restaurateur and the band leader of
Heavydrunk Rob Robinson (HD) and a
Mensa member, Watermelon Slim (WS),
have come together through their love of
the Blues and their past musical careers,

The eleven numbers here are individual
compositions from HD and WS with one being ‘Watermelon Girl’, composed
by HD and the late, great Tony Joe White.
The opener ‘Bluesland Theme Park’ possesses a chilling carnival
atmosphere, a pounding, thundering, Big Top percussion leads menacing,
echoing, funky circus horns, welcoming you, to an Amusement Park,
inhabited by lowlifes and villains.
On ‘New Wine’, the drawling percussion, slow funky horns and slide rich
