'Sad and Blue', is a sad, organ and guitar sizzling slow burner. On Albert King's
compelling 'I Get Evil', the strident horns and confident organ, underpin splendidly
rich and striking guitar work.
The rolling percussion and organ led 'Pack of Lies', is an enticing combination of
smoothly entwining blues, soul and rock.
Jen and Peter splendidly duet on the fast paced, foot-tappingly fierce blues rocking
'2:00 in the Morning'. To calm things down there is a highly enjoyable acoustic country
blues version of the Beatles 'One After 909'.
The funk and soul infused 'Take Back What You Own', has Jen Barnes and Peter
vocalising over a foundation of searing, sizzling organ and striding guitar. While Peter's
plaintive, piano and vocal interpretation of James Cox /Bessie Smith's 1923 'Nobody
Knows You (When You're Down and Out)', is a pleasure to the ears.
The burning, 'Slow Down You Crazy Fool', is a satisfying fusion of raw organ work and
searing guitar, with Peter's snarling vocals on top.
The grooving instrumental, 'Man About Town', delivers a swirling, toe-tapping horn,
organ and guitar led floor duster.
Johnny Moore's classic 'Merry Christmas Baby', is quite simply, a delightful piano-
rolling, slow burner.

Alex Lopez—Looking For A Change—Maremil Music
Cleveland, Ohio born Alex has been a Florida resident
since his college days and the ten numbers here, nine
Alex original compositions and one cover on this album,
pay tribute to the English bands he listened to in his
youth.
In the studio with Alex, who takes lead guitar and vocals,
are Steve Roberts; bass with Kana Leimbach, on drums.
Although, there is possibly, a penchant for the heavier
side of rock to influence the numbers on this album, the blues thread strongly remains
throughout, with also a satisfying Spanish element.
The guitar heavy, stomping percussion driven 'Train', opens the proceedings while,
the enjoyable Led Zeppelin influenced 'Whiskey Covered Woman', delivers a heady
guitar / percussion feel. The fast paced, guitar ringing 'Blues, They Rock', confidently
establishes that fact.
A slower, 'Looking For A Change', pleasantly sways you along, with enticing guitar
work and an inviting chorus.
