BiTS: Oh really? Are you going just as two of you or is it a whole band?
RP: Just the two of us for the moment. We are developing duo a lot and also with a
whole band. We hope very much to be able to present our current show and make
it appear in other towns in Europe. Also we would like so much to come to the UK
again. We hope to announce something very soon.
BiTS: That’s wonderful. I'm looking forward to hearing this. I just love your harp
playing. I think it's absolutely terrific. Tell me something about this instrument that
you play, though, the Golden Melody. Is that a special instrument?
RP: Yeah, it's very special because I'm playing on Golden Melody’s since I was a
little girl and it's really the only Hohner harmonica I use and it's an amazing
harmonica. It was upgraded in February 2023. In 2023 they released the new Golden
Melody, and this new Golden Melody has a lot of performances and a lot of abilities,
much more precise than the old one.
BiTS: How long does a harmonica last you?
RP: It's very unequal. If you are starting to play a harmonica, it's used very, very
quickly. Maybe three months if
you are learning. For me
currently, I'm changing every
year.
BiTS: Oh, okay. I guess that the
company Hohner provides
instruments for you, is that
right?
RP: Yeah, I'm actually a Hohner
artist since 2009, and I have the
amazing honour to be on the
packages of the Hohner Harmony Golden Melody since 2013. And in 2023, they
made me the great honour to ask me for a new photo for the new package of the
new Golden Melody. It's just amazing.
BiTS: And Rachelle, when are you going to be coming to England?
RP: I think with Philippe we’re going to England maybe at the end of July because
we have a great friend , Greg Miller, and he has a wonderful harmonica school at
The Royal George in London. We often go there to have a great moment with his
students. He's an amazing person too.
BiTS: And Philippe has students himself, does he?
RP: No, Philippe loves to make workshops. He doesn't have current students, guitar
students, but he loves to do demonstrations. For example, in Chartres here in France,
