On the following pages you will find a list of 100 albums selected from the
hundreds of blues, gospel and roots music albums issued in 2023.
The list has been curated by the Editor of BiTS, Ian McKenzie, who has edited
BiTS since 2004, writes regular reviews for the magazine and produces and
presents three syndicated music-radio shows as well as occasional podcasts;
shows with blues and roots music always at their core.
There is little doubt that many people will disagree with the selections, their
positions in the list, their worth and even whether they are actually
representatives of blues and roots music in the 21st Century.
