Chapter 5 CONSTRUCTION 257

                                                                                               Chapter

                                 CONSTRUCTION 5

                                                                       Introduction

The method of managing and conducting on-site construction will vary greatly, due to
project size, complexity and scope of work. The information outlined herein is a basic and
practical system presently used by many Design-Builders. The Site Supervisor and Project
Manager should be aware of the absence of any control by a third party agent and therefore
recognize the importance of mandatory testing and inspections including the local building
               officials and retained design-professionals.
The construction budget, schedule and subcontractors will present daily challenges and
without a system of control and supervision the desired results will not be obtained. Ensure that
complete drawing, specifications and all necessary approvals and permits are obtained prior to
commencing on-site work. Responding to critical site matters on a timely and effective manner
will ensure the completion of your Design-Build construction projects, "on time and on budget."
