IDF Dignity Project

(To create awareness about Menstrual cycle)

IDF(Indian Development foundation- A national NGO committed to health, education and
development) had organized a programme (IDF
Dignity Project #MissionONEMillion) on
menstrual cycle and personal hygiene specially for
girls. It was held on 6 July 2019 at Vivek
th
Vidyalaya in the school premises at 10:30am.

Charts were put on the walls, giving
information about the personal hygiene and care to
be taken during the periods.

The session was conducted by Dr. Sabha and Dr.
Utsavi. Questionnaires were distributed to the
students in which questions related to Menstrual
Cycle were asked. To break the silence around
periods and raise awareness of the importance to
hygienically manage their menstruation an
interactive session was also conducted so that the

girls could ask any doubts related to menstrual cycle.
The doctors also educated the students about the
hormonal changes, biological process and the
productive cycle that takes place. Most importantly,
they also educated the students about the correct

method of disposal of pads after use. They also
told the students to be confident even during those
uncomfortable days and accept these bodily
changes as a part and parcel of growing up.

The programme ended with the
distribution of kits to the girls. Overall the event
was successful in raising awareness among girls to
hygienically manage their menstruation.
