BEYOND BASICS

Because the brain processes instantly, it will process anything it
“sees” no matter the speed of the action performed, to the speed
of thought. This means that once an image is imprinted on the
brain, it will process that image in an instant regardless of the
speed used to imprint the image.
Imprinting can be done physically by practicing the exercise slowly
where a partner strikes or kicks and responding at the same speed.
It can also be done by mentally imagining a strike or kick and your
           responses.
When the brain “sees” the actual technique, in an instant it will
process and respond with your practiced response.

In summary, practice does not have to be at full speed to imprint
an image on the brain for it to recall and respond instantly.
