School Environment and the Influence of Peers on the

               Mental Health of Young People

Children spend a lot of time in school, precisely in the years when attitudes, personality and
behavior are formed. The influence of school and peers on the mental health of young people
plays a very large role in the mental health of a young person. The development of a mentally
healthy young person is favored by factors of positive development, if there are developmental
disabilities or negative experiences, school stress, a mental disorder or mental illness may
develop. Cooperation between the family, the school, and the school medical team is important.
Social skills and boundary setting are practiced within peer groups. The peer group helps to
create roles and strengthen independence. Peers also participate in the formation of gender
identity. Peer influence is strongest in adolescence. The problem arises when a positive
influence turns into a negative one. Then various disorders can appear, in numerous aspects of
learning and daily functioning of a young person. The created poster points to this problem.
