ICD DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD Throughout his professional career, Peter has

the Royal Freemasons’ Benevolent Institution (RFBI),
a not-for-profit founded 140 years ago, which owns
and operates 22 residential aged care villages and 20
retirement villages and provides a comprehensive
range of at home care services across NSW and
ACT. Under Peter’s influence, RFBI has adopted oral
health as a significant focus of its care programs for

as the inaugural Director of the Dental Health
Foundation at the University of Sydney. He worked
with the late Prof. Noel D. Martin, Dr Sydney Dobbin,
Dr Derek Freeman and others in the early days of
water fluoridation in New South Wales. Peter’s
expertise in public relations was instrumental in Yass
becoming the first town in NSW to fluoridate its water
supply in 1956. That work led Peter to establishing
his communication consultancy, Professional Public
Relations (PPR), in 1973.
