Five new Fellows were inducted in absentia: Robert Anthonappa (WA), Johan Aps (now residing in Belgium),
Raj Dhaliwal (VIC), Angie Nilsson (QLD), and Bethy Turton (now residing in the USA). Details of the new

New Fellows inducted in Perth with Past President John Owen AM, President Rick Sawers AM and Jenny Ball, Regent for WA

Section VIII Regent for WA, Dr Jenny Ball, organised the
function and co-hosted with Section VIII President Dr
Rick Sawers AM assisted by John Owen AM. The Board
extends a special vote of thanks to WA Fellow Kang Kim
who contributed so much behind the scenes on the night
in the absence of Admin Officer Ron Robinson and Board
members. Thanks to Bec Sawers for lending a hand as well.

As befit the occasion, video messages were played from
ICD Centenary President, Dr Akira Senda of Japan and from
the current ICD
President, Dr Richard
Smith of Texas. Both
International Presidents wish all Fellows of Section VIII well and
commended Section VIII for its leadership within the College. To

Their messages were followed with a video address “Reflections
on 100 Years for ICD” by Past International President and Section
VIII International Councillor, Dr Clive Ross CNZM, of New Zealand.
Clive outlined the early history of the College and highlighted the
contributions of WA Fellows to the development and leadership
of Section VIII. He emphasised the meaning of ICD Fellowship and
encouraged the new Fellows to contribute to the future of the
College by “building on the shoulders of those who came before”.
