Description

ALUMA is a public realm recycling solution for aluminium cans. The

purpose of this product is to reduce the amount of aluminium being
brought to landfills and to reduce the aluminium being produced.

Aluminum is a very sustainable material and can be melted down and

re-used over and over.

This product will be located outside grocery stores and will provide a
place for households to dispose of their used aluminium cans, they

can then use the app to receive their rewards and get money of their

shopping. The Aluma is teamed up with another student, Eoghan
Walsh’s Product called the Can crush. These two product are part of

a service system provided by Alucan, a metal recycling company.

The Can crush was developed by a student

named Eoghan Walsh. This product is for
home use in conjunction with the Aluma.

Cans must be washed before being used in

this product. It then allows you to crush the

product in to a small and compact size to
easily store until you next trip to the

Aluma.

Using this product allows users to have a

premium account with Alucan and
therefore redeem higher awards for the

extra efforts.
