IDEATION Chapter 4: Ideation
Final Design Ideas
Research Design Process
The researcher began brainstorming design ideas by first looking over competitors on the market. After researching
the most popular pet training apps, the researcher downloaded four different apps (Dogo, Puppr, Woofz, and Zigzag)
to obverse the app’s layout, contents, features, navigations, etc, and analyse the best possible design solutions for
a new pet training app.
Possible Design Opportunitites
After conducting a competitor’s analysis during the research stage and observing the apps, the researcher brainstormed
these possible design solutions:
• Integrated GPS tracking to monitor walks and training locations in real-time.
• Gamifications such as a reward system for completing training milestones such as dis-count vouchers for pet
products or services.
• Create features that enable users to manage multiple pets on one account.
• Include live group training sessions with experts which can foster a community support system and provide
guidance in real-time.
• By incorporating some, or all, of these opportunities, it allows the app to stand out by offering unique value to pet
owners and creating a stronger connection among users.
