Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods (ESMM)
This research project employed an exploratory sequential mixed
methods design to investigate the public’s awareness and impact of
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The methodology, grounded in the
framework proposed by (Creswell & Plano Clark 2009), was executed in

Quantitative Phase:
A survey was developed and disseminated via Microsoft Forms to
over 100 participants.
The survey aimed to assess the public’s knowledge of SAD, its effects
on daily life, and any self-administered remedies. Responses were
analysed using Microsoft Forms’ analytical tools, with posted notes
aiding in thematic identification.
